Folio
A bold, Swiss-style Ghost theme for design studios, agencies and portfolios, with a studio journal and memberships.

// overview
About Folio
Folio is a bold, Swiss-style portfolio for studios, agencies and freelancers. A giant typographic homepage, case-study pages that read like editorial features and a studio journal make your work the hero.
Who it is for
- You run a design studio, agency or freelance practice
- You want case studies that read like editorial features
- You also write a studio journal or newsletter
- You like strong type, lots of white space and one bold colour
Probably not for you if
- You need a shop or client portal
- Your projects have few or no images
- You want a dark, cinematic look — see Noir
Pages and layouts
Page templates: Work, Team, Membership, Signin, Signup, Account.
Extra post layouts: Full bleed.
Getting set up
- Case studies: add the internal tag #work to every project post. It gives the post the case-study layout and puts it in the project index.
- Disciplines: give each project one or more public tags such as Branding or Editorial. They fill the services list and the Discipline column.
- Journal: create a public tag with the slug journal for studio notes and articles. The homepage shows the newest three.
- Contact: set Contact email, Studio location and Studio timezone (for example Europe/Amsterdam) in Design → Site wide.
- Upload the theme zip in Ghost Admin → Settings → Design, then fill in the theme settings.
- Import the sample content if you want to start from the demo and replace it with your own posts.
What you download
- The theme, ready for Ghost 6.0 or later (folio_1.0.0)
- Documentation in HTML
- Sample content you can import into Ghost
- 12 months of updates and support from the people who built it
Requirements
A Ghost 6 site: Ghost(Pro) on a plan that allows custom themes, or self-hosted Ghost. Memberships and paid tiers use Ghost's own members feature and its Stripe connection; the theme adds the pages and the paywall design. Demo photos are not included in the download.
